Vmedia optical drives and discs are based on the latest blue laser technology. Blue lasers can read more densely packed data and that combined with advanced video and audio codecs allows Vmedia to fit a entire feature-length, high quality movie on a Vmedia disc.
How tiny is a Vmedia disc?
Vmedia discs are 32mm in diameter - not much bigger than the popcorn you might enjoy while watching your favorite movie. The disc is enclosed in a 36mm square protective cartridge. It's easy to carry a bunch of your favorite movies, TV shows and video games in your pocket to watch any time you want, no matter where you happen to be.
What do I need to play Vmedia discs?
Any device with a Vmedia optical drive will play a Vmedia disc. And unlike a download, there are no complicated digital rights to limit the number of devices or screens that a Vmedia disc can be played on. So Vmedia discs are easy to share with your friends and family.

The Vmedia drive sends the video to a buffer in the mobile device and then spins down until more video is needed.
How much data does a Vmedia disc hold?
Each Vmedia disc holds 1GB of data. That's enough for an entire movie in at 576p resolution (720 x 576 pixels). Vmedia disc capacity will increase to 2GB in about a year.
Are Vmedia discs recordable?
The first Vmedia discs are ROM discs. Movies, TV series and video games on Vmedia discs can't be erased accidently and will last for decades just like DVDs and CDs. There will be a recordable Vmedia disc in the future so you will be able to record your own videos, photos and music to play in your Vmedia-enable devices.

Is Vmedia a miniature version of Blu-rayTM?
